Meet Dave
Educator. Advocate. Neighbor.
A life shaped by listening, service, and showing up.
Champion for Justice & Community
Dave spends his weekends hanging out with friends from his church, which includes the DMV’s most vulnerable. Over a cup of coffee he listens to their stories, which continue to inform his advocacy for justice and his commitment for all voices to matter. Dave and his wife, Barbara, also are devoted to the education and love of over fifty kids and young adults in Zambia, where they have worked – since 2015 – with those who have lost their parents to AIDS.
Federal Policy Expert & Education Advocate
Dave earned a master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lehigh University, and a master’s degree in Theological Studies from Wesley Theological Seminary. His career has spanned 35 years in higher education policy and advocacy for federal government support of medical research, science and technology.
Family Man & Military Supporter
Dave was born in New Jersey, has three grown children, and one grandchild. Both sons served in the U.S. Army and his oldest son served two tours in the Iraq War. Through that experience, Dave is forever appreciative of, committed to, and grateful for the men, women, and families that serve (have served) our country in the U.S. military. He has lived in the DMV for twenty years, is a twelve-year resident of Northern Virginia, and lives with his wife, Barbara, and their three cats – Emme, Fun, and Cornelius.
